Apparently, the final table included Jennifer Harman-Traniello and John Phan , but none of them could bring Cantu down. According to partitimepoker.com, the ex WTP winner grabbed an extra 30,000 bucks prize for kicking out of the game six of the most wanted “shooting stars”. He also won another 10,000 bucks for his chip leadership after day 1A.
If you didn’t know, Brandon Cantu is also a WPT champion and WSOP bracelet holder, after he won the 1,500 bucks prize, as well as the No Limit Hold’em event at the 2006 World Series of Poker, where he shoot another 757,000 bucks. However, some say that, back then, he wasn’t mature enough to play the hard game with the real pros.
Steve Sung placed second, winning $585,000 bucks, but not even all this money was enough to wash the massive damage Cantu has made. Afterwards, Jennifer Harman-Traniello went out of the race, leaving with a sack full of 330,000 bucks. She was closely followed by Noah Jefferson, who was kicked out on a decent fourth place for about $265K. Michael Bakes occupied the fifth position, collecting a total sum of 200K bucks, after a suspicious hand with Cantu, about which he will surely be thinking for a long while.
Baker was fallowed by John Phan, who placed 6th for $135K and did a rather lousy job during the game. Overall, as I already mentioned, Cantu had all the odds besides him, from the beginning until the end, and was never in any kind of trouble. After winning, an impressive 17 hands in a row, he accumulated a pile of stack, which saved him in the final day of play. So, this is how he kicked about 376 asses who also took part in the popular event! Read and learn, fellas!
