Brandon Jennings goes to Detroit in sign-and-trade
Now, in order to bring another hot-commodity, the made a sign-and-trade deal with the Milwaukee Bucks for the lefty shoot-first point guard in Brandon Jennings - ridding themselves of the former Kentucky prospect Brandon Knight, Slava Kravtsov and Khris Middleton.
With the two bigs in Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond set to start at the four and five spots, one has to assume Josh Smith will begin at the three (uh-oh, Smoove is about to be chuckin' from downtown once again) with Jennings starting at point and perhaps a, dare I say it, healthy Chauncey Billups at the two?
That lineup doesn't sound too shabby on paper, but we all know what can happen with teams that sound decent. However, with Mo Cheeks at the helm this season, this team should improve with scoring and quickness at very important positions (PG & SF).
Jennings has always stressed that he never had an opportunity to shine in Milwaukee - and with Detroit's former successes and a mentor like Billups there to guide him, this team shockingly, is looking up.
