Brandon Jennings to miss at least 3 weeks
NBA players usually miss games for injuries related to basketball, not injuries related to their teeth. However, Detroit Pistons’ newly acquired point guard, Brandon Jennings, will miss at least three weeks due to an impacted wisdom tooth and a hairline fracture of his jawbone.
To add salt to the wounds for the Pistons, Rodney Stuckey is also out with a broken right thumb that is also related to an off the court injury. Now, the Pistons will have to look at Chauncey Billups and Will Bynum to fill in the gaps until they return.
Coach Maurice Cheeks said, “This is the NBA, and in the NBA, people get hurt. If you’re not ready when your time comes around, shame on you. That’s the reason you have 15 guys on your team, so (if) someone gets hurt, someone can step in there and play and maybe take advantage of it. Hopefully, they will take advantage of it ... and we can keep on going.”
If the Pistons can keep it going, they have a legitimate shot of making the playoffs once again; something they have not done since Chauncey Billups was last on the team.
