Braylon Edwards Keeps Blasting Cleveland Browns Fans
Braylon Edwards Keeps Sticking The Knife Into Cleveland
Browns receiver Braylon Edwards certainly ruffled some feathers on Monday when he said that he was unappreciated by Browns fans and that he has always been a marked man in the state because he went to Michigan.

Obviously, those are fairly strong words, and the kind of words that guarantee you getting booed at home on Sunday. But apparently that wasn't enough for Edwards. No sir. He seems to really want to twist the knife into Cleveland, so he provided a B-side to his rant on Tuesday. And this one may really get him kicked out of town.

"I'm not Paul Warfield, Webster Slaughter or Jim Brown. I've given my all to this city for four years, and I realize it will never be enough. I went to the Pro Bowl last year and resurrected this team from the darkness, and nobody cared."

"People in this town believe they are entitled to too much. They have been disrespectful to me and my family. I've gone out in public with my family and have had to deal with being called foul names. My parents have been called vulgar things at restaurants."

"My biggest problem is that I actually give a damn. I'm always rushing back from surgeries and injuries, never missing games or practices. But through this, I've learned how to overcome adversity. I'm also proud of how my foundation has taken off. I've been doing all this community service in Cleveland ... my charity efforts will only be in Detroit from now on."

Man, when a guy says he's cutting off his community service foundation in a city, he definitely means business. Or, more appropriately, wants to get the hell out of Dodge.

Frankly, I don't think any of this stuff has to do with Edwards being a Michigan guy or what not. What this has to do with is the fact that he was a No. 3 draft pick who had a Pro Bowl year last year and now can't hold onto the ball to save his life. Any time you're the No. 3 pick in the draft, there are great expectations. Edwards met them last season, but he isn't doing it this year.

Is it fair that he's getting blasted for that? Maybe, maybe not. But it comes with the territory. Either way though, it seems Edwards has now made it demonstratively clear that he doesn't want to finish the final year of his five-year deal with the Browns in Cleveland next season.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to the reception Edwards gets from the fans on Sunday when the Browns host the Bengals. Something tells me it'll be anything but warm.

I agree derms. Braylon If you want out of Cleveland, go ahead. You drop more passes than ANY receiver in all---I repeat---ALL of football. Another thing idiot, you are afraid of catching passes over the middle. What's the matter, are you afraid of getting a concussion?? Now c'mon, the Browns do not a pre-madonna on their team,ie T.O. or Ocho Cinco( or Ocho Stinko if you ask me).

I hope it snows a lot by Sunday...Dorsey may not hit him with passes but the fans will hit him with snowballs

"I went to the Pro Bowl last year and resurrected this team from the darkness, and nobody cared"

YOU resurrected the team? Really, Braylon? You blocked for yourself, while you threw passes to yourself, and then you ran it into the end zone, by design of the plays that you designed yourself, and then you went down and stopped the other team on defense?

I totally don't remember it happening like that.

if the browns keep winslow and he made a similar statement, then they'll keep brylon.

maybe they have the same press agent?

Winslow has stated he wants to be a Cleveland Brown.  Braylon wants to be a Lion where hometown fans don't boo.  LOL..Good Luck anywhere else.  All fans boo Players who drop balls

LOL at Braylon for using the Carson Palmer "blame The Ohio State University - NFL fans" approach.

Since when did it become that the players were doing the NFL a favor by gracing them with their presence? Call me crazy (it wouldn't be the first time) but I thought it was a privilege to play in the NFL and if you were lucky enough to get on a team, you should thank your lucky stars you were there. Did I miss the memo of the players uprising?

Exactly Derms, like I said before, Braylon get some of them stick em gloves, ones with Super Glue on them and you wont get booed, dropping passes a 5th or 6th rd draft pick makes isnt going to get you prop's in Cleveland or anywhere when your a first rounder..

If he resurrected the team last year, he buried it this year.  Period

His drops have single-handedly cost the Browns games
and probably cost Anderson and Crennel their jobs.  He is the only real receiving threat in Cleveland with Dainty Stallworth hurt all the time, so if he struggles, the running game struggles because teams load up in the box.  So the whole offense struggles as a result of his drops.

He's a crybaby.

Actually, T.O. is tied for 5th this year for that particular statistic. Braylon is first and has TWICE as many as T.O.

Ya know...it's really great that you guys care what he is doing and has done in Cleveland this year.

This Pro Bowler from last year has really tanked my fantasy team.  I could care less what he did for Cleveland.

yeah he may drop passes but that doesn't entitle assholes to shout curse words at his family. and that is just f**ked up if you cant feel sympathetic for that

I don't want to give Braylon Edwards too much credit, but this would be the perfect time to cry your way out of town.  They'll have a new coach next year, and it's not clear that they have anything in Brady Quinn.

And if he was such a great guy would he be yanking the rug out from under charities because he got his feelings hurt?

I call BS.

His family lives well above the masses who pay dearly to watch him.  The fans pay for the private schools his kids attend.

Life is a hard lesson.  I do not feel sorry that it touched his family.

This guy lives a dream.  He is paid millions to play a schoolyard game.  Quit crying and catch the ball.

PS - And leave the kids with a sitter.

Oh! You meant the last (insert arbitrary number here) yrs as a whole! And dating back to when the receiver this article about was still in college! Oh, I see.
