Breaking News: Kobe Out 6 Weeks With Fractured Left Knee
The Los Angeles Lakers have unexpectedly announced that Kobe Bryant will miss the next six weeks with a fractured tibia in his left knee. Kobe injured his knee during Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, but appeared to shake it off.
However, a MRI on Thursday revealed that the damage was far worse than anticipated.
"It's too bad," Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said. "You hate it for Kobe. He worked so hard to get back. But he'll be back. He'll be back in six weeks, and we'll deal with it and weather the storm until he gets back."
With Kobe Bryant missing the next six weeks, Steve Nash the next four weeks, and Steve Blake out another four weeks, the Lakers may not have enough on their roster to make it to the playoffs this year. And they may soon find themselves in tanking mode, whether they intended to or not.
