Brett Favre Hires Personal Trainer. Will He Return To Play For Vikings?
Brett Favre Hires Personal Trainer, All Hell Breaks Loose
I'm sure if Brett Favre sneezes these days, it'll make the front page of the news. But hey, when you're as well known as this guy is for "unretiring", that's the way things go. It means you've always got the microscope focused directly on you. And I assume that's actually what Favre wants anyway.

As you know, there's been a ton of speculation lately that Favre is planning on making a comeback with the Minnesota Vikings. I even wrote about why it makes perfect sense. Why else would he ask for a release from the Jets?

But now there's even more interesting news out there. Word on the street is that Favre has hired a personal trainer.

Now, this could mean absolutely nothing other than the fact that he just wants to stay in shape, but it certainly raises some eyebrows. You can definitely stay in shape without a personal trainer.

Charley Walters of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, who dropped the trainer news on us, also has one other intriguing theory as to why Favre wants to at least give the impression that he might return to the football field with the Vikings. Perhaps Favre has laid the foundation for a return with the Vikings in order to squeeze the Packers into finalizing that $20 million marketing deal that appeared out of nowhere last year after Favre tried to unretire and wind up back on the Packers.

I'm not really sure what's going on, but I do know this. Favre asking for and receiving a release from the Jets, then immediately hiring a personal trainer to get in shape, combined with the Vikings desperately needing a QB, definitely has the all the makings of another Favre unretirement.

I fully expect to see him in Minnesota come August.

Is Brett Favre seeing Minnesota Vikings purple in his future? [Pioneer Press]

It could all be a smokescreen of sorts, but I don't really buy it either as being that.  There will be many reports now of planes leaving Mississippi to Minnesota and vice versa, and until Favre ISN'T in a Vikings' uniform come August, it will be hard to ignore any of these rumors.

Seriously?  This seems like a dream situation for the Vikings.  That's a loaded team if they can find a decent QB.

He could have gone out as a God and didn't.  But to go to the Vikings?  There is nothing worse than a tainted legend.

It would be a god sent if he went to the vikings. For the Viking that is. Would you rather have Jackson or Farve? The only thing that I am not liking is another offseason listening to ESPN talking about Favre. The Viking fans should be excited. Come on 80% of sports fans were pulling for Brett last year.

Who the F%&k really cares. He is worn out.He cost a good Jets team a chance to make the playoffs last year with decision making that would get any other quarterback benched. He has a history of making horrible decisions at the worst time.If Minnesota is stupid enough to sign him they will find that out.Brett you WERE a great footbal player but now you are just looking like an idiot that doesn't know when to quit.Have you talked with Muhammed Ali lately?

If only Larry Holmes were around to kick Brett Favre's ass into retirement.

im a huge packer fan. i have mixed feelings. i hope favre comes back but i dont want him to play for the vikings. if he does, i will not be able to call myself a completely loyal packer fan because favre is my favorite athlete ever and im not going to hate favre just because he is playing on my rivals team. i will be a packer fan and a favre fan, but i will NOT be a vikings fan. i will cheer for FAVRE to tear up (except when playing GB) but i am NOT cheering for the vikings to tear up. but i want Favre to win another SB so............

im confusing myself trying to figure out if i am going to be a tiny vikings fan this season or not...........

Why can't this douche and Greg Paulus just both get together and leave the sports world entirely? I hate these Farve stories as much as I hate hearing Greg Paulus is still trying to play football.

Favre has beaten the dead horse, raped its corpse, sold the ponies into slavery and burned the stable down.

Please, for the love of god, Brett Favre, go back to Mississippi and leave us all in peace.

The only thing slightly appealing about this is that it would piss off the Green Bay fans so much. But then again, he pretty much lost his golden boy status with them when he abandoned them for the Jets. Farve is waaaay past his prime. His shoulder is not going to hold out. One good hit and he is done. Sad to say, even with serious damage. His experience would be a plus to help some of the greener guys but that's why you go into the coaching realm and not as a QB.

Past his prime? That is true. With the Vikings he doesnt have to throw alot. He has AP in the backfield. One good hit and he is done you say? Remember this is a guy who played through almost every injury possible. You say he abandoned them for the jets. If I remember correctly they didnt want him to start and he wanted to be a starter. They offered him 20million to retire and he didnt want to retire. When it comes to being a athlete it is hard to hang up the shoes,no matter what kind. I say if Brett wants to play then go play. I just dwell on the fact that we are going to hear about it the whole off season. With that said, Go FanIQ!!

He retired FIRST. The Packers already had their backup plan in place. Just because he is Brett Farve doesn't mean he gets whatever he wants. He isn't bigger than any organization, although he acts like it sometimes. Also, yes he has been through so many injuries yet has been damn lucky he has recovered. He isn't superman. How many injuries do you think one person can withstand? I would love to see what a MRI of that mans back, shoulders and knees looks like. He is a lot older and his body is going to give out sooner rather than later. I for one would rather my team not spend a ridiculous amount of money for someone that has the distinct possbility of warming a bench most of the season, no matter how much it pisses off the Packers. I understand it's hard to let it go, but come on. It has to be done sometime. He has had a longer career than most. Quit wasting the time and energy of the league and do what you said you were going to do long ago and retire already.

and in this corner  lol! Heck he retired 1st,2nd and 3rd time. You are right the packers had their "backup" plan in place. You cannot blame the man for still wanting to play. Once your career is done and you cannot play that is what it is "done". You cannot bring it back. He has been playing this game since he was knee high to a grasshopper. If he still wants to "live the Dream" then let him. You should be excited being a vikings fan. It is a major upgrade from Jackson. Yes he is going to give out sooner than later. That is why you sign him to a one year contract. You know he is going to retire next year. Your team has a better chance of winning with Favre and going deeper in the playoffs and possibly winning a championship with him. That is why you play the game. To win rings. With him coming back last year was far from a waste of time to the league. The jets ratings were up and when Farve was aired the ratings were up. $ is not a waste of time. So live your Dream Favre live your dream. P.S. He is not superman anymore he was more of Meds man, but either or he is still a Football Hero. I gave you a thumbs up btw.
