The breakup between Brett Favre and the Packers was a messy one. We all saw it. Favre didn't want to play, and the Packers were fine with that, and then Favre wanted to play again, but the Packers had already found his replacement, and then Brett wanted to play AGAINST the Packers, but the Packers wouldn't let that happen, so they eventually traded him to the Jets, blah blah blah.It wasn't pretty. But I'm not sure that anyone realized just how ugly it was. Or perhaps no one realized what a huge prick Mr. Favre really is.
According to comments made by the ever-reliable Jay Glazer on Fox's pre-game show, Favre allegedly called the Detroit Lions and offered them information about the Packers' playbook. The alleged call lasted over an hour, so it's safe to assume that the conversation was pretty in-depth.

Unfortunately for Favre, he picked the worst possible team with which to play Benedict Arnold. The Lions could have known the entire Packers playbook, as well as all of their play calls, audibles, and every single move that the Packers made, and they still would have found a way to lose. The Lions lost their game against the Packers 48-25.
After hearing about this, we can come to a few assumptions:
- Brett Favre is a selfish prick. After years of "loyalty" in Green Bay, he handled his retirement and un-retirement in the worst way possible. And even after screwing that up, he continued to stick it to the team, the city, and the fans who had supported him unconditionally for so many years.
- Brett Fave is an unethical piece of crap. This isn't just a bit shady, or slightly mean. It's flat out wrong, illegal, and a violation of the highest degree.
- Brett Favre is a complete moron. The Lions? Seriously? The LIONS??? Of all teams, why the Lions? Like I said earlier, they could know every single aspect of every single play that the Packers were planning on running, and they STILL wouldn't be able to win that game. Could Brett really be so stupid to think that this would accomplish anything? Who knows... maybe the score would have been 56-12 or something, without Favre's trickeration.
Hopefully, Roger Goodell gets a hold of this, and slaps a big suspension and a fine on Favre. This is WORSE than Spy Gate, worse than guys who take steroids, and worse than Ed Hochuli blowing a few calls. This is a case of a 39-year old man acting like a 6-year old whose mother wouldn't buy him a candy bar. This is someone who has allowed his bitterness to affect his actions in a way that is totally unacceptable.Forget the fact that it had no influence on the game, since Favre was too stupid to try cheating with a competent team. Don't look at the results... look at the crime. Favre has taken the fabric of the NFL's integrity, and ripped it to shreds. Legend or not... if this is true, he needs to pay.
