Did they cancel all classes today in the State of Wisconsin? No, seriously, did they? Pretty sure Brett Favre's tears today began a mass domino effect of weeping across the state. Record day of Kleenex sales, no doubt.
#4 addressed the media today in Green Bay and like most who've poured their heart into their craft, was unable to keep his emotions in check. It's remarkable that despite ESPN's excessive coverage and weekly tributes throughout his career that I never began to dislike the guy (see: Duke, Coach K, Yankees, etc). He's impossible to dislike because he's as real an athlete as there has ever been.
Favre's press conference can be best summed up by this statement:
"I've given everything I possibly can to this organization. I don't think I've got anything left to give. I know I can still play. But I don't think I want to."
I don't know about you, but I still can't help but think he's going to toss and turn all of July and camps begin to open and GM's start calling him. I can't put this one to bed just yet.
If Rodgers gets sacked and tears his ACL on the first play, I might. I made it through this. Had he retired after any of the past 2 years it'd have been much more difficult. I'm partly happy he could go out this way, its just weird and doesn't seem right.
