Today, another one of the great linebackers of our era announced that he's done, as Brian Urlacher announced his retirement via Twitter.

Urlacher won the 2000 Defensive Rookie of the Year award and was the 2005 Defensive Player of the Year. He has made eight Pro Bowl appearances and was a three time first-team All-Pro.

He started 180 games in his career, all with the Chicago Bears. He racked up just over 1000 tackles in his illustrious career.

There were rumors that Urlacher might sign with the Minnesota Vikings or another team, but he said in an interview on the Dan Patrick Show that he realized that he didn't want to put on another uniform.

Congratulations to Brian Urlacher on an outstanding career. See you in Canton, Brian.
