Bring on the Shield

3/8/13 in WWE   |   kjbriden   |   19 respect

My close friends who know about my wrestling fanaticism know about my love for heels.  I just can't contain my excitement for wrestlers who can pull off that sexy smirk and act like they don't need the WWE Universe to survive.  Most of my favorite wrestlers either are or were previously heels, and I have more respect for them because of it.  CM Punk,  Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, and The Miz all wormed their way into my heart as heels, and I am always disappointed when one of them turns face.
What's better than a heel?  ...a group of heels, clearly.
The Straight Edge Society, led by CM Punk, was cult-like.  Punk was their Messiah, and they were willing to do anything to protect him and their way of life.  The Nexus, led by Wade Barrett (and later Punk), was a group of rookies forcing their way into the WWE no matter the consequences, and great talent like Barrett, Heath Slater, David Otunga, Daniel Bryan, and Justin Gabriel carved a path for themselves because of it.
Now, as "Sierra.  Hotel.  India.  Echo.  Lima.  Delta." hits the speakers, its instant recognition with The Shield prepares audience members for the chaos that is sure to ensue.  Beginning with sneak attacks, The Shield is now being offered legitimate matches against crowd favorites like John Cena, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, and Ryback.  These "super groups" they've made still haven't slowed down The Shield's momentum, and Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins have been cutting excellent promos to coincide with the matches.
Heading into WrestleMania, The Shield has made many enemies: Rollins was the victim of an RKO by Randy Orton a few weeks ago, and Reigns was taken out by Big Show's WMD.  Hopefully this will lead to another tag match, giving The Shield the opportunity of a lifetime to take on some of the best wrestlers in the WWE on the biggest stage you could possibly ask for.
