Brook Lopez is walking fine after surgery
After getting surgery on his foot in June to replace some screws that he had inserted less than two years ago, Brook Lopez is rehabbing just fine. The important big man for the revamped Brooklyn Nets, is currently in a walking boot, but is still able to get set shots up and work-out. "I feel great," Lopez said. "I have been getting in some weight lifting, getting shots up and everything is going well. I’m not fully working out. I’m not jumping or running or anything like that, but we have a good month-and-a-half just until training camp starts, so we’ll definitely be all right by then."
Fortunately for the Nets, they are loaded with talent in their frontcourt with Kevin Garnett, Andray Blatche, and Reggie Evans. So, even if Lopez isn’t ready by training camp and Garnett only plays 25 mpg, Blatche and Evans will do more than an admirable job of filling in.
The good news is, Lopez was wise enough to get the surgery shortly after the season was over, in order to be fully rehabbed and ready by training camp. A lesson that many NBA player can learn during their off-seasons.
