Bud Selig Will Be Present for Barry Bonds Record Home Run
Listening to Bud Selig's interview yesterday with Dan Patrick it was evident even over the airwaves that the commissioner is incredibly uncomfortable with this situation. He's also incredibly upset that Bonds is going to be breaking his good friend Hank Aaron's record.

Finally, Selig has made a decision about his whereabouts on the night Barry Bonds breaks the record (I'm still holding out hope he doesn't, can't help it). Bud will be there.

Baseball's greatest power hitter and its greatest power wielder have been engaged in a behind-the-scenes cold war for weeks. But not too long from now, Bonds and Selig will be together, face-to-face and celebrating the new home run record and champion.

Well, one of them will be celebrating, anyway. The other fellow -- yes, the commish -- will be wearing a plastic smile to mark the occasion he was desperately hoping would never happen.

SI.com has learned that barring something unforeseen and drastic, Selig plans to be there when Bonds breaks the all-time home run record of Selig's longtime friend and Milwaukee mate Hank Aaron.

That's the right decision. It's still a record, despite the steroid use. He know about Mark McGwire and he was present, so he should be there for Barry Bonds.

How does this work?  Once Bonds gets within 3, Selig just goes to every game until he hits it?  That's a lot of crappy Giants baseball!

That's one thing that bothers me, I can understand if one night he hits 2 and Selig hops a plane for the next game, but what is he suppose to do attend every game until it happens, doesn't he have other work to do?

It would be one thing if he wanted to see it happen.  Besides, there is nothing Bud hates worse than having to make a decision.

True but it looks like it will happen within the next 7 years (A-Rod)
