College Basketball (almost) Daily ...20 points for the Billikens 20? Rick Majerus had that many chicken wings for breakfast. As you might have guessed, that is the lowest point total by any Division 1 team since the shot clock.
Majerus astutely breaks it down for us:
"We have some issues in terms of our offensive proficiency.''Just maybe. And Lindsey Lohan has some issues with the bottle. The master of X's and O's currently has the 307th (out of 328) scoring offense in college hoops. Might want to rethink this whole coaching thing, Rick. Illinibob72 said it best: Holy Mother of All Things Holy!
Washington State 73, USC 58 I'm not going to join everyone is saying this was a big win for the Cougars. Yes, it was on the road against an OK Trojans team. Yes, they have OJ Mayo. But Tim Floyd's team is precisely the type of group that Washington State should manhandle. Inexperienced, undisciplined, and prefers flash over toughness. WSU will eat all teams fitting that mold. Their first real test? Saturday at UCLA.
UCLA 69, Washington 55 This sets up the aforementioned big Pac-10 showdown on Saturday. I'm convinced Russell Westbrook might pass Darren Collison by the end of the season in terms of effectiveness. The freshman back up point guard led the Bruins again with 18 points (6-of-7 shooting ... you won't see that line from Mayo).
