CBS Summer League documentary “Summer Dreams” to star Philadelphia 76ers Michael Carter-Williams
On March 15 the documentary will be aired on CBS which will show the intense competition revolving around the polsitions available on Summer League and the NBA rookies and free agents who contest to win them.
Executive producer Mike Tollin said that they had open access to the players and their side of story now so they would make a very personal documentary without omitting facts, meaning it would be one of a kind and the people would get a close up look at the path towards Summer League.
"With unprecedented access, we'll witness hopes dashed and dreams coming true right in front of our eyes,” Tollin said.
Williams will not be the only one on whom the documentary is centered around. Several rookies such as Dallas Mavericks, Shane Larkin, Dwayne Davis, and Romero Osby will also be involved. The documentary will focus around the career paths and decisions involved in their lives that they made and will make as the next move in their careers. Carter is happy that the documentary is being made and he gets to star in it because it gives him the perfect opportunity to show he is more than a basketball player and not pretend to be someone he doesn’t want to be in usual media.
"I think the biggest difference was it wasn't me having to necessarily say the right thing," Williams said. “I could say what I felt about the game. I didn’t have to pretend to be anyone else.”
