C.C. Sabathia Hits Monster Home Run [MLB Walk-Off]
Somebody's NL Trade Value Just Skyrocketed

I wanted to get these MLB nuggets up a little earlier, but I had to wait for C.C. Sabathia's home run to finally land.

The center of many trade rumors, Sabathia told his teammates before the game he'd hit at least one home run. The big man delivered, and I'm certain the Los Angeles Dodgers weren't the only National League team taking notice.

Many teams could use his arm - he did happen to strike out 10 batters in seven innings - but a big lefty bat could be just as valuable. Then again, who doesn't hit monster HR's off Chan Ho Park. Cleveland's only run until the 11th inning was this hit, then the Indians piled up six more to win its second straight over LA. Indians 7, Dodgers 2

According to Jim If there's one way for a lifetime Cardinal to endear himself to Cubdom, Jim Edmonds may have pulled it off. Hitting two home runs in the same inning, to pummel the crosstown rival will make you an instant fan favorite regardless of your history. The Cubs pounded Jose Contreras with a nine run 4th inning, where Mike Fontenot and Aramis Ramirez also added their own long balls. That should give Lou Piniella and the Cubbie fans plenty to rap about today. Cubs 11, White Sox 7

BIG League Debut How'd you like to have your very first MLB start in Yankee Stadium? 22-year-old Daryl Thompson got the ball Saturday for Cincinnati and proceeded to shutout the Yankees for five innings with his bullpen following suit. It's all downhill from here, Daryl. Reds 6, Yankees 0

Boggs Beats The Sox? It's only fitting, yet somewhat ironic that Boggs would get the big win at Fenway Park. Mitchell Boggs kepts the Cardinals makeshift pitching staff afloat with 5 1/3 quality innings and Troy Glaus took care of the rest with four RBI's. Cards 9, Sox 3

I think anybody could hit a home runoff of Chan Ho Park.
