What is it about the Brewers uniforms that make fat men wearing oversized clothing looked tolerable. Anyways, a big night in more ways than one in Beertown, USA, as their prized trade acquisition CC Sabathia took the mound just a day after moving to Milwaukee.
The debut didn't leave anyone speechless, but it was exactly what the Brewers needed: six decent innings and more importantly a victory against the Colorado Rockies to keep pace with Chicago. The concern with CC is always his BB's. Tuesday night he walked five (struck out five, as well) which is usually the recipe for a loss, but considering all the changes in the last couple days the start will only be viewed as a success.
Now CC can sit back, relax, and mow down some bratwurst. Let's just hope it's not the one in the daily sausage race. Brewers 7, Rockies 3"I don't think anybody realizes how hard it was, what he just did," said reliever David Riske, a former teammate in Cleveland. "He had been a Cleveland Indian since he was 17 years old.
"To come in here and get used to a new team, new guys, and want to impress them. That's pretty tough."

Harden Who? One of the reasons, if not THE reason, that Billy Beane could let Rich Harden go to Chicago for several works in progress was that he's got Justin Duchscherer to lead the way. Having spent some time as a make-shift closer, middle reliever and setup man over the last few years, Duke is now finding his spot in the starting lineup in a very big way. He's now 10-5 after throwing a complete game shutout, which is sweet tonic for A's fans on the same night they said goodbye to one of their most talented prospects over the last 5 years. A's 2, Mariners 0
Pettitte Comes Up Huge Big series in New York this week with the juggernaut Rays in town and the veteran Yanks got the best of the younguns. Andy Pettitte outpitched Scott Kazmir, but the Yankee fans have been just dying to laud Derek Jeter lately amidst the A-Rod/Madonna mess and their wish was granted. JETAH!!! made a spectacular play in the 5.5 hole and eliminated what looked to be an RBI single from Willy Aybar. Jeter is God. That is all. Jeter 5, Rays 0
The Other Other Ramirez Even though Aramis is heading to the All-Star Game, there's little doubt in my mind who's the most valuable Ramirez in town. 26-year-old Alexei has been given a chance to play regularly at second base on the South Side and all he's done is create runs with his hustle and his clutch bat. He's going to be a star and rightfully so, draws some comparisons to Alfonso Soriano. On a night when Lights Out Linebrink blew a save, Alexei's 13th inning single and heads up baserunning scored the winning run thanks to the OC. Is it just me or does it seem like the Sox are walking-off every night? Sox 8, Royals 7 (13)
