HATS OFF TO ONE OF THE BEST COACHES IN NFL.......I WILL SORELY MISS HIM......HE HAS BEEN A TRUE INSPIRATION TO MANY PEOPLE.......HE ALWAYS HELD HIMSELF, HIS STAFF, HIS TEAM AND YES, EVEN THE FANS TO BE A GREAT EXAMPLE NOT ONLY ON THE FIELD, BUT OFF THE FIELD ALSO

WE'VE KNOWN SINCE DAY ONE........FIRST.....GOD, SECOND.....FAMILY AND EVERYTHING ELSE FALLS INTO PLACE......HE HAS NEVER LED US TO BELIEVE ANY DIFFERENT....

THE RECORD IS REMARKABLE:

George Seifert 49ers .766
John Madden Raiders .759
Tony Dungy Colts .759
Don Shula Colts .755
Vince Lombardi Packers .754

HE'S THE ONLY BLACK COACH TO WIN A SB, THE FIRST COACH IN LEAGUE HISTORY TO REACH THE POSTSEASON IN  10 CONSECUTIVE SEASONS AND THE ONLY COACH TO GO OVER SIX STRAIGHT SEASONS OF 12 WINS OR MORE........HOW MUCH MORE CAN WE ASK OF A GREAT COACH?

HE NEVER LIED OR CHEATED HIS WAY INTO ANYTHING IN THE NFL....JUST HARD WORK AND DETERMANITATION......AND THAT IS WHAT HE TAUGHT THE REST OF THE COACHING STAFF, HIS PLAYERS AND FANS.......JIM CALDWELL WILL HAVE BIG SHOES TO FILL, BUT HE HAS BEEN FOLLOWING COACH AND I FELL WILL WALK PROUDLY AND CONTINUE THE GREAT SPIRIT AND THE EXPACTATIONS WE ARE USE TO..

ALWAYS BLEED BLUE.....PROUD TO BE A COLT FAN 4 LIFE

In this day and age he is a rare find. He set the bar for those in the game now and those who follow. He is more than a coach. He tore down walls and took his team with him. He was focused, patient, composed and principled. You never saw him loose his composure. He was always even tempered and it reflected his deep faith. He resigned as coach of the Colts to be with his family and to serve young men who need direction, those without a father figure and those incarcerated. What a guy!!

People will instantly start speaking of Coach Dungy in Hall Of Fame terms and deservedly so. His record speaks for itself. And it will have to. Dungy has so many things going on in his inspiring life to think about Canton. I remember like yesterday when this spindly bespectacled man approached the dais as the new head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in early 1996. I remembered that he was the QB at the University of Minnesota back in the 70's. Little more did I know about him. I truly feel fortunate that I met him in a completely unarranged atmosphere once in early 2001. He was genuinely funny and warm. We talked about our children, not football. Selfishly, I hope that he has to wait for enshrinement until Derrick Brooks gets inducted. What a sight that would be: Coach Dungy and #55. I'll be there.
