Tigers fans have been upset with Carlos Guillen's fielding lately, but you should know it's not for a lack of pushing himself too hard. It's been a terribly painful year of injuries for Major League players and for those of us reading the news.
First, we had Felix Pie's twisted testicles. And then the subsequent torsion surgery needed to, uh, fix the problem. Next was Kaz Matsui, whose welcome to the Astros included a case of anal fissures.
To complete the painful injury triad, Carlos Guillen and his hemorrhoids join the mix (yes, it's a slow news day):
"He can hardly move -- he's got hemorrhoids so bad. He's been playing with hemorrhoids that probably need to be lanced. He probably shouldn't have been out there (third base on Monday).I'm not sure what's causing Guillen more pain today - that he has a serious case of hemorrhoids or that his manager made the information more than public.
"He could hardly walk (Monday night)."
