Cavs finally take down comic sans rant against Lebron, need tech support to do so
Apparently the Cleveland Cavaliers themselves forgot about it. As of Sunday night, the whole insane letter was still posted to the Cleveland Cavaliers' official section of NBA.com. Does no one at NBA.com routinely look at what is posted to their website?
At 7:44 p.m. Deadspin writer Barry Petchesky found that the Dan Gilbert comic sans letter was still online -- even though James' agent Rich Paul had just visited the Cavaliers regarding his potential return.
The Cavs then attempted to take the letter down -- and found that they couldn't. "The letter was removed years ago from the Cavs.com website, but over the last week, it was discovered that it still existed from this external link to a stagnant archived page," Cavs executive Tad Carper told SB Nation. "It was on the content management system platform that was used back in 2010.
Gilbert's original letter would have been four years old tomorrow, July 8. If you want to relive it's hilarity. it has been reposted to Twitter.
