I'm sure most of you were aware of this, and by "most of you" I mean three of you, but today is Kareem Abdul Jabbar's 61st birthday. And we want to celebrate that fact with something we know Kareem would appreciate - random YouTube clips.
So anyway, here are a few of Kareem's weirdest non-basketball moments, as captured through the majesty of Youtube.
Here he is in a 1978 ad for Atari basketball, getting his butt kicked by a 5-year-old kid. By the way, Atari basketball may be the worst video game ever invented. I'm dead serious about that.
If Atari doesn't do it for you, here he takes on Bruce Lee in "Game Of Death." Interestingly, this is the one time in Kareem's entire life where he was OK with taking contact from an opponent.
Before Shaq did Nestle Crunch ads, Kareem was there, paving the way for big men to do candy bar commercials.
This isn't a great ad, but whatever, it's Kareem in an Apple ad.
Happy Birthday big man.
