Last night's playoff action was a little boring. Blowout. Blowout. Blowout.
Besides Kenny Smith failing to jump an Aston Martin, there was one minor highlight that may have gone unnoticed by some.
After getting worked on Sunday night, Hawks' Mike Bibby thought it would be a good idea to rip on Boston fans. We compliment for the thought, but his execution and timing were poor.
They were kind of loud at the beginning,” he said. “But a lot of these fans are bandwagon jumpers trying to get on this now. I played here last year, too. And I didn’t see three fourths of them. They’re for the team now and they might get a little rowdy but that’s about it.”As much as I'm annoyed by a growing portion of Boston fans, Bibby should be informed that 90% of all sports fans are spineless, bandwagon jumpers. It's sad, but it's the truth. What Bibby failed to acknowledge was that New England sports fans are also among the best in the country. Here's the latest example.
The very awesome (if you were to like the Celtics) Red's Army blog asked his loyal readers and fellow C's fans to start the cheer "Rondo's Better (clap clap clap-clap-clap)."
In case you were unclear about the power of blogs witness Celtics fans giving Mike Bibby the treatment.
Well done.
