Celtics Versus Bulls, Magic Versus Sixers, Blazers Versus Houston

The Best First Round Series Ever Continues [NBA Live Thread]

4/30/09 in NBA   |   100%InjuryRate   |   1283 respect

All right everyone, we have three HUGE games tonight.

First up, the best first round series in the history of the universe returns as the Bulls get the Celtics at home. Will we get another overtime game? Will the Bulls push it to 7? Will Vinny Del Negro find a way to blow another big 4th quarter lead? We shall find out.

Then we've got the Magic in a tight spot against the 76ers, since Dwight Howard is suspended for tonight's game.

Lastly, the Blazers are in win-or-go-home mode against the Rockets tonight, but the game's in Houston. Definitely an intriguing matchup, to say the least.

But seriously, all these games are likely to be awesome, so strap yourself in and comment it up.

Here are the times for the games:

Boston at Chicago (TNT, 7 p.m.)
Orlando at Philly (NBA TV, 7:30 p.m.)
Portland at Houston (TNT, 9:30 p.m.)

Chat it up here or on the game pages.

Hey what will Rondo do next. First he mugs Miller in game five then he pulls Hinrich out of bounds in game 6. Is there a an award for roughhousing in the NBA, because if there was he would win it.

Lakers are just gonna win the championship this year, everyone knows it

I love to watch a good 7 game series too, but my hope is for a 4-0 sweep!  AT worst, I want the 4-1! The Lakers can't play around with the Rockets and Denver is ON FIRE!!! I really don't want a 6 or 7 game series...Trevor Ariza is beat up, Bynum could needs some rest, and so does Kobe Bryant becasue he played B-Ball all Summer!!  The last few times, the Lakers have clinched playoff series with wins at home! Best bet is 4-1!

Just paying attention to the Lakers next opponent...I've had enough of Shane Battier having good games against L.A....Yao Ming is playing well, and so is Ron Artest. (Although I know Kobe can get into Ron's head real quick) Von Wafer has been playing well and he plays good vs. the Lakers. All the Lakers need is for Tracy McGrady to come back and mess up the Rockets rhythm with his inconsistent play...

Truthfully though, the LAkers need to win both games at home and send a message to the Rockets and the rest of the playoff teams!!!  NOT IN OUR HOUSE!!!

That is the only part that is straying me away from calling it the best ever..So many more rounds and games to go after this one, neither can easily go without making it past the conference semi-finals..but if it's the series itself we're talking, I can't think of any other in recent memory.

I second that. Each game has come down to the end. And they're starting to create a rivalary here.

meanwhile Orl is playing phenominal team basketball shooting about 60 something percent from the floor

So if Robert Horry checking Nash into the scorer's table is a suspension, throwing a guy into it has to be a suspension, right?  The NBA is setting itself up for more hypocrisy.

I still don't think the Rondo foul the other night was dirty, but from what just happened, I wonder how he can throw our guy into the table and not be thrown out of the game.  Crazy.

That was wild.

Pass what you're smoking because it must be good.

Dwyane Wade wants to know what the hell Rondo has to do to actually get punished.

4/30/09   |   ruvian   |   17 respect

Wow. Rondo almost them the game the other night with his foul on Brad Miller. Now Rondo's ignorance could cost Boston the series as he could get suspended for the next game if the Bulls win this game. Good job Rondo. Let's see if Marbury can step up his game????? Prove me wrong Starbury, lead this team in the clutch when it counts. Do it...Do it!!!!!

WTF... flagrant one?  Unbelievable.  Rondo should be out of the game.

Good job by the assistant coaches for Boston and Chicago to run to the other players on the bench and keep them all on the bench.

Rondo looked like he was about to throw a punch before that ref got in the way.

Well Heinrich was blocking out Rondo a little longer than he should have but damn, you gotta keep your head.

Eh... it was a long rebound and by the time he wanted to get away he couldn't because Rondo had him.  Heinrich can be a dirty player too, but he didn't do anything wrong there.

rondo sucks rondo sucks......after your guy went after him? you stay classy chicago

4/30/09   |   kantwistaye   |   4210 respect

Rondo is done tonight and he is lucky that its the playoffs because that is an easy regular season suspension.

I'd love to see Boston put it away tonight, but would it still be the best first round series ever if it didnt go 7?

haha yeah, well even if we don't make it to the second round this year it will be great experience for a team that i think is going to be good for a really long time. I'm also a nuggets fan because i live in denver, and enjoyed every home game this year with floor seats.
