The Central Florida football and basketball programs have both been hit with a one-year postseason ban for major recruiting violations and lack of institutional control, reports Dave Miller of Yahoo! Sports.Blog Photo - Central Florida Football: Knights Receive One-Year Bowl Ban

With more sanctions to follow from the NCAA Committee on Infractions, the Knights are now ineligible to play in the Conference USA championship game. Many, including myself, have them winning the East division in a year that looked very promising.

It's also the final year UCF will play in the C-USA before moving on to the Big East in 2013-14.

The athletic department already self-inflicted three years of probation and have limited official campus visits for prospective athletes for the next two years.

We can expect a minor scholarship reduction to be slapped on by the NCAA, with possible fines and additional probation.

Central Florida stood in front of the NCAA's Committee on Infractions in April for allegations that the school was involved with runners for sports agents and cash payments as well as gifts to recruits.
