First of all I must apologize for the misinformation that appeared in yesterday’s write-up. It appears that there is NO broadband access to CFL games for Canadian fans for the time being. I will advise if/when this changes.
As promised, here is the link for the USA and international broadband/broadcast schedule in PDF format: http://cfl.ca/uploads/assets/CFL/PDF_Docs/International%20Broadcast%20Schedule_June%2030.pdf
Yesterday’s Results: Straight up: 1-1, Vs Spread: 1-1, Totals: 1-1
Both of last night’s games had similar beginnings…what with the visitors jumping out to big early leads, but Calgary was able to play its way back into the game, only to run out of gas in the fourth quarter. Hamilton never really got in sync offensively except for a brief flash in the 2nd quarter. On defense they seemed to be able to make the required adjustments after the first quarter to slow down Toronto but although Hamilton was able to move the ball up and down the field at times they had trouble finishing drives, perhaps not surprising with a rookie QB.
On to tonight’s game then.
Winnipeg at Edmonton 9pm et 7pm pt
Ok. You are the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. You have and all new coaching staff and made massive personnel changes from last years team….most by choice, some by retirement. You are starting the season on the road with a first year starter at the QB position.
The good news: He is going against his old club, which he knows quite well. The bad news: He is going against his old club, which know him at least as well if not better than he knows them.
The saving grace is that with both teams havng new coaching staffs neither can be exactly sure what to expect from the other. Edmonton has more or less the same team on the field and have upgraded their running game with the addition of Jesse Lumsden, if he can stay healthy.
Look for both staffs to keep things close to the vest early. Edmonton should have little trouble taking this one, the question is will it be a laugher or not? I say not, because both teams will be tentative early…Edmonton just has too much for a new look Winnipeg team still trying to find its identity.
This game is available coast to coast on TSN television, and CFL.ca has a webcast for our USA friends.
Prediction: Edmonton 24 Winnipeg 16
