I know a lot of people often wonder about the intelligence of certain athletes. Are they secretly smart? Or seriously dumb? I admittedly have always assumed Chad Johnson is practically brain dead - judging by the way he's handled his offseason trade demands - but now we have actual confirmation.
Fanhouse informs us that on Cincinnati's local radio station 1530AM Homer this morning, host Alan Cutler had on attorney Eric Deters. Deters is representing a class action suit against Ocho Cinco over a raffle that winners didn't receive their prizes. Basically, Johnson was going to raffle off a car, but then changed his mind. But not before everyone bought tickets for the raffle. Oops.
Anyway, Deters was asked about Ocho's intelligence. He was, uh, not kind:
"Mental agility of a small soap dish."Ouch. It also happens that Chad may have already perjured himself in a deposition in this case. That led Deters to make this also not so kind comment:
"The intellectual capacity there is lacking ... I don't understand how he can understand a playbook."Needless to say, this should be a fun trial over bogus raffle tickets. It's slated for June 30th. Of course, I wonder if Chad will even be in town by then. He's burning more bridges in Cincy than I ever thought possible.
