The San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet again in a matchup of two teams that made history in their previous meeting. Last time they played was in Pittsburgh in week 11, and the Steelers won 11-10.
Back then, the Chargers had LaDainian Tomlinson in the backfield. Although he was largely ineffective, he led the team with 102 total yards frmo scrimmage. Today, Darren Sproles will be playing in his place. Sproles was spectacular last week against the Colts, but it's safe to say that the Steelers run defense is MUCH better than the Colts. The Steelers had the 2nd best run defense in the NFL, giving up an average of 43 yards per game LESS than the Colts, who were a pretty mediocre 24th.The game will be in Pittsburgh, the place with the classiest fans in the NFL. Don't agree? Just ask Ty Law's mom. Or the baby in the picture up top, for that matter.
Anyway, this should be another brutally physical game, much like the Ravens and Titans yesterday, and the Giants and Eagles today.
79% picked the Steelers to win, but I have a nagging feeling that the Chargers will come away with this one. With or without LT, they're a better team now than they were in Week 11. I don't think you can say the same of the Steelers, especially since their QB is coming off a concussion, and their offense is absolutely abysmal anyway. I like the Chargers to come away with a win in this one, and to host the AFC Championship game next week.
If you're watching the game (4:45 pm EST on CBS), chat it up here or on the game page. As always, enjoy the game!
And go Chargers!
