Charlie Sheen reportedly had the "Winning!" bid for LT's Super Bowl ring
Good! At least now we know the ring won't be sold for drug mone-- oh, wait. Right, Charlie Sheen.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer has the intital report, saying that LT's agent was informed that Sheen had the winning bid. "Got no idea if this is true but if is it's hilarious," Glazer tweeted, "Lawrence Taylor & his agent Mark Lepselter were told last night winning bidder for LT's Super Bowl Ring was none other than Charlie Sheen!!!"
Niether the auction house nor Sheen have confirmed the purchase. All we can glean from Sheen's infamous Twitter account is that Sheen saw "Chernobyl Diaries" last night, and he thought it was pretty good.
Sheen actually is something of a sports enthusiast. He was the star of the baseball classic "Major League" back when he had it together enough to be in movies. Sheen is a sports memorabilia collector, and owns Babe Ruth's 1927 World Series ring, and the ball that slipped through Bill Buckner's glove in the 1986 World Series. So he owns a few New York sports memorabilia items, and this would not be an out-of-character purchase.
The ring will hopefully hold up to being placed on fire-breathing fists.
