Chase Daniel Leads Mizzou to Big XII Title Against OU

Todd Reesing fought hard with a valiant 4th quarter to make the Border War a 6-point deficit, but in the end the Jayhawks QB was left with a big chunk of Arrowhead turf in his grill.

It was Chase Daniels' night: 40 of 49, 361 yards and 3 touchdowns. That's a Heisman performance, more importantly, a #1 ranked team effort. Missouri should take up first place when the BCS rankings are announced tonight. Either way, it's beat Oklahoma and advance. Should they lose I suspect a BCS bid could still await.

Despite the loss, Kansas is still a better team than I'd given them credit. The 28-7 score at the start of the 4th was what I expected. Certainly the Jayhawks schedule aided their undefeated record. I think we agree there are quite a few teams who would have also accomplished the 11-0 feat, but consistency each week is worth a lot and the Jayhawks could still sneak into a BCS game. Sadly, it's not so much about talent anymore, it's about attractiveness and fan support and Kansas brings both.

Fun game last night in Kansas City. Should be an even better one Saturday in San Antonion.

Missouri 36, Kansas 28

Loved watching the game last night; being a son of two Mizzou alumn's, liked the outcome as well.

Honestly, I think by later today, it will be West Virginia as #1, Mizzou #2...Kansas obviously takes somewhat of a big fall; but do think that Kansas may still have a shot at a BCS bowl...I mean, 11-1 in a top tier conference would be good enough for anyone else, I know their non-conference schedule was weak; but to compare them to 2 or 3 loss teams...I think they rightfully have a shot.

As far as next weeks game of Mizzou/Oklahoma; I'm very hopeful for another Tigers victory...but honestly am more worrisome of this game than last night game at Arrowhead. Hopefully Chase can do what he's done all year, and not have me worry with another few TD's and a BCS Title shot; which is something far more greater than I could have ever imagined at the start of this season.

I was really upset after that game last night. I was really rooting for Kansas. But you have to hand it to Mizzou. They played a really good game. But I agree, West Virginia beat the living hell out of UConn, so they will for sure be number one. And Mizzou should get 2. Georgia will also move up, as will Virgina Tech.

As long as undeserving Ohio State doesn't make it to the title game, then I am happy.  Before you OSU fans get all crazy please see your out of conference schedule and the fact you did not defeat a top 15 team all year.  That is why OSU doesn't deserve to be there.   Mizzou earned that victory with pride and I hope they take care of OK.  WV should win next week and cement their spot in the Title game.  I would love to see two different teams in the title game for once.  It would be a fitting end to this season.

But what about Illinois? They're top 15, right? Oh wait...hahahaha

Nice!!!!  Unranked when they took out OSU.  I looked up WVU, MU, and OSU's out of conference schedules and believe it or not, WVU had the best, but take it with a grain of salt.  None of these three teams had a win against a Non-conference team that was ranked at the time they played them, so that is not helping any of their causes, but OSU out of conference schedule was weakest among the three.

Very true.  They have to prove themselves against OK.  Kansas hadn't played anyone until Missouri, not to take anything away from the win.
