Talk about bad luck.
After making his recent return to the Los Angeles Clippers, Chauncey Billups has another injury that's landed him on the bench indefinitely.
The guard was out on Wednesday with tendinitis in his left ankle and he is reportedly out.
The Clips have a game against Phoenix on Saturday and Toronto on Sunday and he is not expected to play in the first, but no word on the second of the back-to-back games. Then they start a four game road trip on Tuesday.
They don't know how long he'll be out, and Chris Paul knows that the team will feel the absence. He said:
"Man, I was hurt to find that out because nobody loves to play the game of basketball probably as much as me and Chaunce. We talk the whole game even when he's over there in a suit. But when you have me and him out there on the court at the same time, then it's almost over for the other team. You never know what we're going to do. We play so well off of each other because we just think the game. We watch the game so much. He knows what I'm going to do before I do it and the same way. Not too many backcourts in the NBA are like me and Chaunce."
However, he did go on to add, "Even the game that they probably say he can come back, I'll probably tell him to wait another week or two because I don't need him in December or January. I need him in April."
That's the type of mentality both men share, and why they play so well together.
Chauncey won't be out nearly as long as he was before, but not knowing when he'll return will be tough on the team.
