Chelsea’s misfiring ace Fernando Torres wants to move out of London to return to his old home Atletico Madrid. The Spaniard found himself under fire once again, following Manchester City’s visit to Stamford Bridge last Sunday.

Fernando Torres’ reunion with his old mentor Rafael Benitez is expected to bring back his goal-scoring form from Liverpool. However, the 28-year-old Spain international fired blanks once again in Rafael Benitez’s first match as a Chelsea manager.

According to various media outlets Fernando Torres might return to Spain in the upcoming transfer window. Atletico Madrid will certainly be interested in the repossessing their old striker.

The potential transfer of Fernando Torres will allow Chelsea to negotiate over the transfer Radamel Falcao. Chelsea has trying to sign Radamel Falcao for over two years now. Rafael Benitez could agree to a player plus cash deal in order to bring Radamel Falcao to Chelsea.

Rafael Benitez is most probably Fernando Torres’ best chance at succeeding at Chelsea, therefore the former Liverpool striker will attempt a last ditch effort before giving up and leaving Stamford Bridge.

A change in scenery and return to his youth club could work miracles for Fernando Torres. Rafael Benitez will be hoping to reintroduce Fernando Torres under a new image on the pitch, but the Spaniard’s goal-drought might leave him with no choice but a send-off.

Fernando Torres didn’t find his prime until he was with Liverpool. The Spanish forward scored only 91 goals in 243 appearances for Atletico Madrid in five seasons. It was at Liverpool that Fernando Torres turned into a goal-scoring machine.

Fernando Torres scored 33 goals in 46 appearances in his very first season at Liverpool. Consequently, the Spaniard scored 81 goals in 142 appearances for Liverpool.

In spite of being hailed as one of the best strikers in the world, Fernando Torres was unable to continue with his goal-scoring spree at Chelsea following his £50 million move from Liverpool.

So far Fernando Torres has scored only 19 goals in 88 appearances for Chelsea. All of this suggests that Chelsea would be willing to lose Fernando Torres if a good deal comes along.
