Chelsea have been dealt a massive blow in their pursuit for coveted Colombian hit-man Radamel Falcao. The London club, who were willing to pay as much as £55million for the Atletico Madrid striker, will now have to convince Radamel Falcao’s wife to let the striker join the club.
Radamel Falcao is the one of the hottest transfer prospects in the football market, and that has been the case for the past couple of seasons. The ruthless goalscoring machine has attracted interest from top notch clubs across Europe during the last couple of years, but none have come close to acquiring his signature.
The Colombia international is well known as “The Tiger” because of ability to kill the defenses of any team, which is why he is one of the most highly rated players in the football world right now.
Chelsea have been after Radamel Falcao for the past couple of years, but they have failed to strike a deal. The Colombian has had a long list of other suitors as well, such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
In spite of all the interest it appears as if Radamel Falcao will be unable to make a big-money move because of his pregnant wife. A recent interview with Argentine singer and actress Lorelei Taron shows that Radamel Falcao’s wife has no intentions of leaving Spain while she is pregnant.
“Our baby will be born in Spain and we will not go away from here,” Lorelei Taron said. “This is where our doctor is. We are very happy here. We really like Madrid and my husband is happy here.”
This recent development means Real Madrid are once again hot-favorites to sign in the Atletico Madrid striker. Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho attempted to sign in Radamel Falcao last summer, but the striker decided to extend his stay with Atletico Madrid.
Just recently, Radamel Falcao admitted he could opt for a move real soon, which means Radamel Falcao will be in the transfer market this summer once again.
