Chelsea is lightening up the transfer market with interest in a striker this fall. The Stamford Bridge boss Roberto Di Matteo is already hunting for new forwards and reportedly he has marked a couple of high profile strikers for his squad.

The names of Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao and Santos’ Neymar have been around the block for a while, but there are more names arriving every day. Just last week, Chelsea showed interest in swooping in for Shakhtar Donetsk’s attacking midfielder Willian.

The Brazilian international Willian usually plays in the center of park but has an uncanny talent of scoring unique goals.

This week Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Barcelona star David Villa. Reports from Spain have revealed that David Villa is unhappy at Barcelona. The Spain international is edging towards an away move which could occur during the winter transfer window.

The 30-year-old Spaniard is tired of his bench-warming role at Barcelona. David Villa’s falling out with teammate Lionel Messi has fueled the Spaniard’s desire to move out of Spain.

The unsettled striker will enter the football market as one of the top objects. A number of clubs have been interested in acquiring David Villa’s services in the past. Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will certainly inquire Barcelona about David Villa’s price if he enters the football market.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is keen on strengthening his attack this fall. Presently, Chelsea’s squad compromises of only two strikers; Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge.

Roberto Di Matteo’s interest in David Villa suggests the Italian is going for short term stability of Chelsea. Moreover, partnering up David Villa with Fernando Torres will be an interesting move as both players also play for Spain’s national football team.

Chelsea is expected to go after younger targets during the winter transfer window, but if the Champions League winning club is unable to secure the services of a talented youngster then Roberto Di Matteo will start working on his contingency plan.

Chelsea can sign in David Villa for around £20 million range. Rife reports from Spain suggest Barcelona has already put a £18 million price tag on David Villa.
