Chelsea linked with moves to sign in Loic Remy and Leandro Damiao for £45 million
Chelsea is keen on bringing in reinforcements in the upcoming winter and summer transfer windows. Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is set to receive the financial backing of mega-rich Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea lost their spot on top of the English Premier League Manchester United this weekend. Chelsea has been performing brilliantly this season, even though they have only two strikers at their disposal; the recovering Fernando Torres and out of favor Daniel Sturridge.
The Champions League winners are willing to break their bank for Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao, but apart from signing the Colombian the London club has set their eyes on a couple of other forward options as well.
Roberto Di Matteo just recently revealed he had a couple of bids lined up. Reportedly, these bids will be placed on the Marseille forward Loic Remy and the Brazilian forward Leandro Damiao.
Both players have been in phenomenal form and have grabbed attention of top notch clubs across Europe. Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are the clubs Chelsea will have to rival in order to win services of Loic Remy and Leandro Damiao.
Loic Remy has been in good form for Stade Velodrome, where he has scored 37 goals in 83 appearances during two seasons. However, the 25-year-old former Nice player has been unable to cement his place in the first team. Reportedly, the new manager Elie Baup and Loic Remy aren’t on the best of terms.
Chelsea can swoop in for Loic Remy with £25 million. Moreover, the France international would be receiving more playing opportunities in the first team at Chelsea.
The 23-year-old Brazil international Leandro Damiao has won the heart of Roberto Di Matteo. The tall center forward has turned into a goal-scoring machine over the years. In three seasons with Internacional, Leandro Damiao has scored 74 goals in 124 appearances.
Leandro Damiao has been on Chelsea’s radar for a while now. The powerhouse picked up a silver medal and finished as the top scorer in the 2012 London Olympics. Chelsea will face fierce rivalry from Manchester United for Leandro Damiao, but Roberto Di Matteo can defeat them with the tons of transfer funds at his disposal.
Chelsea can pickup Leandro Damiao for £20 million. Leandro Damiao has already declared that he is open to a transfer move.
