Chelsea plot winter moves for Radamel Falcao and Willian
Following weeks of silence Chelsea are linked to a move for Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao once again. Reports suggest Chelsea have prepared to unload a whole treasure chest to acquire the services of the Colombian hit-man.
After stomping over Aston Villa in a stunning 8-0 victory Chelsea’s critics were silenced on the amount of firepower the Champions League winning side has in store. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to provide stability to his attack by signing in Radamel Falcao and Willian during the January transfer window.
Reports suggest Roman Abramovich will sanction the purchases of a two multi-million pound deals this fall. Radamel Falcao and Willian have been linked to a couple of clubs for a winter move in recent weeks.
Chelsea remains the top contender for Radamel Falcao’s services, but Willian’s low release clause has attracted a lot of suitors. Nonetheless, Radamel Falcao is expected to be tagged with price tag of £50 million and Shakhtar Donetsk coveted asset Willian is speculated to cost around the £30 million region.
Romelu Lukaku’s return to Stamford Bridge is also on the cards as Chelsea look forward to bolstering their attack this fall. Romelu Lukaku has impressed the Chelsea brass on loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.
Nonetheless, Chelsea will focus all of their attention towards acquiring the services of Radamel Falcao during the January transfer window. Radamel Falcao has already scored 20 goals this season, which includes a 45-munite hat-trick against Chelsea in the Super Cup.
A number of clubs are eager to sign in Radamel Falcao, but Chelsea lead the race for his transfer. Willian, who has been in phenomenal form in the Champions League, is also set for a big move. Willian recently described his dream move would be to play for Chelsea.
Chelsea’s interim manager Rafael Benitez has already hinted towards a couple of big summer signings. Rafael Benitez believes new signings would beckon Fernando Torres to further increase his form.
Fernando Torres, who was signed from Liverpool for £50 million by Chelsea, is slowly returning to his goal-scoring for Chelsea. The 28-year-old has scored 14 goals in 28 appearances for Chelsea this season.
