Chelsea prepare offer as Liverpool reject Arsenalís £30m bid on Luis Suarez
The last thing Luis Suarez is expected to do is make a move within the Premier League. Well, Liverpool have made sure that such a move doesn’t occur; whether they had their coveted Uruguayan hit-man’s best interest at heart or they are simply trying to avoid competition in the Premier League.
Arsenal and Chelsea continue to show interest in the 26-year-old striker. Arsenal came up with a £30 million bid on Luis Suarez yesterday, a bid that got rejected by Liverpool today. Notable English media outlets such as The Telegraph and The Times have confirmed that Arsenal’s first big attempt to seal a deal for Luis Suarez has been turned down by Liverpool.
Last month Liverpool announced they would be selling Luis Suarez for no less than £50 million. This means only the big fish in the transfer market can afford to pay the price set on the Uruguay international. Clubs such Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are still fighting to acquire the services of Luis Suarez.
Arsenal’s audacious attempt at winning Luis Suarez has got them nothing, but it has reignited interest in the former Ajax star. It is believed Chelsea will be next to come up with a big bid for the striker this week. Club insiders suggest Jose Mourinho is an avid fan of Luis Suarez. The Portuguese tactician tried to bring Luis Suarez to Real Madrid, but his attempts were half-hearted. Now, Jose Mourinho has the financial power and vacancy in his squad to accommodate Luis Suarez.
Liverpool are still keen on keeping Luis Suarez at the club, although they are growing tired of his transfer saga. The Reds have given Luis Suarez July 22 as a deadline for sorting out his problems and future with Liverpool. If Luis Suarez chooses to stay at Liverpool after July 22 he will join travel to Australia for the club’s preseason trip.
Interest from Arsenal and Chelsea on signing in the notorious is quite surprising; since last month Luis Suarez announced he had grown tired of biased decision from the Football Association and extreme criticism from the English media. Luis Suarez also admitted that he no longer wanted to play football in England.
Now that the bidding process has begun, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to come up with rivaling bids on Luis Suarez this week. It is not clear whether Arsenal will come up with a new bid on the striker.
