Chelsea are set to battle against Manchester City and Bayern Munich for the signatures of Malaga’s young midfield star Isco. Recent reports suggest Chelsea have become favorites to sign in Isco, although Manchester City are expected to upset their progress with a new bid soon.

Manchester City have been after Isco since the beginning of the summer transfer window. The Premier League champions, who were the first to place an official bid on Isco, are considering bolstering their attacking options for a while now.

Financial restrictions set by UEFA and FIFA kept Manchester City from making big signings during the summer. Nonetheless, they’ve been given a leash on the issue this fall.

Presently considered to be one of the hottest transfer prospects in the football market, Isco has attracted interest from all over Europe. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been in magnificent form for Malaga this season. His impressive form is the reason behind Malaga’s fifth spot in La Liga and an unbeaten run to the Round of 16 in Champions League.

Isco’s heroics have attracted transfer interest from top notch Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Other European powerhouses such as Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Barcelona are also interested in signing Isco.

With Malaga being banned from the Champions League next season, Isco could opt for an away move. The £17.6 million release clause in Isco’s contract seems like a reasonable demand, which is why clubs are ready to additional amounts to secure his services.

With Pep Guardiola moving to Allianz Arena this summer, expect Bayern Munich to sign in a couple of Spanish midfielders. Rife rumors suggest Isco and Sergio Busquets will be Pep Guardiola’s top transfer prospects.

If Isco opts to move into Stamford Bridge he will join compatriots Fernando Torres, Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu and Cesar Azpilicueta. However, at Bayern Munich the only Spanish player in the while squad is Javi Martinez.
