Chelsea stopper Peter Cech rubbishes reports suggesting Arsenal move
Arsenal are reportedly planning on replacing goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a new face. Rife rumors suggest the Gunners are preparing a shocking move for Chelsea goalkeeper Peter Cech this summer.
Emirates boss Arsene Wenger has dropped Wojciech Szczesny to the bench in the last two games against Bayern Munich and Swansea City. Interestingly, Arsenal has managed to keep a clean-sheet on both occasions.
With the highly rated young Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is set to return to Chelsea at the end of the season. Chelsea will have to decide upon whether to keep Peter Cech or start trusting in Thibaut Courtois.
There is a long list of talented goalkeepers in the football market. The list includes names such as Pepe Reina, Asmir Begovic, Victor Valdes, Rene Adler and Michel Vorm. Arsenal are currently using Lukas Fabianski as their primary goalkeeper, but they are expected to change him soon.
Meanwhile, the Chelsea shot-stopper Peter Cech claims he “can’t even imagine” leaving Stamford Bridge. The Russian international rubbished rumors claiming he would move to Arsenal at the end of the season.
Peter Cech revealed that he hadn’t begun any negotiations with Chelsea about his exit. The 30-year-old confessed that he wanted to keep himself away from media conjecture about his future at Chelsea.
“It is an interesting piece of news but it is such speculation that I think it's not even necessary to comment on it,” Peter Cech told Czech website isport.blesk.cz. “I know of nothing, nobody has contacted me and, to be honest, I can't even imagine it.
“I don't even normally notice such rumours. But when it does get to me, I naturally look at it to know what to say about it later. There are players who do read newspapers.
“Some players read match reports to know what was written about them and where. I don't do this, I don't read newspapers because of such things. I don't take rumours like this seriously.”
