Chicago Blackhawks Brandon Saad back on ice, Teravainen still on hold
The team already has injured players and having an able bodied, well trained player on the ice certainly helps. For the good news, they have gained exactly that. As they head to face the Nashville Predators on Sunday they will have Brandon Saad back on the ice for them.
Saad had been out for the past 3 games as he has sustained an upper body injury which seemed pretty bad but he has managed to bounce back from it. Closing in on the St. Louis Blues in the Central Division, the Blackhawks have stronger chances and a stronger team with as many injured players they get back.
Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said that it was highly likely that they would have Teravainen ready and playing for the next game against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday and then they would get to debut their highly rated prospect in a live game.
Quenneville added that he had analysed him in training to evaluate if he was ready and he had deemed him prepared.
"He’s had some skates here the last two days, so we’ll see. There were about four of five guys on the ice (Sunday),” Quenneville said. “More conditioning and handling the puckand skating and work, they had it real good with the coaches. The last two days (were) probably a comparable workload. Very intense."
With Saad back on the ice the Blackhawks has the reinforcement it needs to plough on and with Teravainen coming in the next game, they will have some pretty solid starters to go around.
