In what seems like a surprise upset, Chicago has become the first city eliminated from contention to host the 2016 Summer Olympics.Chicago was eliminated in the first round of voting, after having the lowest amount of votes. In the second round, Tokyo was eliminated, leaving only Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Madrid, Spain.
Apparently, Barack Obama's visit wasn't convincing enough for the committee to select Chicago. While many people felt that Rio was the favorite from the start, most felt that Chicago would at least make it to the final 2.
The decision between Rio and Madrid will be announced today tat 12:30 pm EST. Stay tuned for details, as soon as they are released.
