Coco Crisp can rest safely, he's still can lay claim to the best fight in the majors this year, but anytime AJ Pierzynski gets clocked, I approve.
Ozzie Guillen and his Chicago White Sox were clearly displeased with the beating they were taking at the hands of the Kansas City Royals, a loss that would put them out of 1st place, so they decided to handle matters the old school way.
Intentional beaning ensued.
After rookie Clayton Richard took a beating, Sox reliever D.J. Carrasco got the orders from Ozzie to plunk Miguel Olivo. His first pitch up and in mistakenly hit his bat. His second, got a piece of Olivo's wrist and the fight was on.
Olivo and Carrasco disappointed, mimmicking modern day boxing with a punchless standoff, but as soon as AJ Pierzynski came into focus, the Royals catch dropped the hammer.
Let's be honest, anyone who dyes their head all blond in their 30's deserves a swift punch to the face. Especially if they're named AJ Pierzynski.
Well as a Sox fan this weekend sure sucked. As for Olivo you should have not been surprised by his lack of connecting on anything. Hey A.J., I love you playing for the Sox and all, but the hair? Come on that dying job has me pondering punching you.
Miguel Olivo charges and then stops like he realizes he might get hurt...and then some dipsh*t throws a punch from behind and he gets credit like he did anything worthy of admiration? Olivo looked like a pansy, and anyone who throws a punch from behind is one as well.
I have no problem with intentionally throwing at a batter. I do have a problem when the pitches are up at the head, which all three of these were. How good do you think Ozzie feels about his bullpen? it took Carrasco three pitches to hit a batter. A funny Crash Davis line comes to mind.

Ozzie is not so thrilled with it right now.
Hey Carrasco is getting off easy, just ask Sean Tracey.
was this a serious article? i found it on the sun-times website... if it was, way to stay objective pal. its painfully obvious it wasnt actually intentional. he wouldnt do it with the bases loaded or with a guy with a fastball in the mid 80s. he would have brought in matt thorton for something like that.
DJ Carrasco is a sinkerball pitcher who was throwing it inside to try to induce a groundball and possibly a double play. blame olivo for not being able to dodge a pitch that was barely going 80.
What kind of pansy suckerpunches a guy who isnt even fighting? he was simply trying to protect his pitcher, which is was a good catcher does. AJ is a smart baseball player who plays really well. the blonde hair thing, however, needs to go.
