In what might be the worst news of the year, Chris Berman will team up with Trent Dilfer to announce a Monday Night Football game between the Raiders and Chargers.Berman, whose ridiculous catch phrases have assaulted viewers' intelligence for almost 30 years on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, will now have the chance to act like an idiot for 3+ hours.
Since I try to make sure I never miss an NFL game, I'll be watching. But since Berman will be running his mouth, you can be sure I'll push the mute button first.
If you're one of the few who can actually tolerate Berman's shtick, then congratulations. Either you'll enjoy this, or you'll finally see the light.
For the rest of us, let's hope this is the last time ESPN tries this. Because let's be honest... Berman is terrible.
Bonus - My favorite Chris Berman clip (warning: NSFW language):

Whenever I see or hear Berman, I change the channel. He's one of the 3 worst people on ESPN, along with Stuart Scott and Skip Bayless.

I love the idea despite what you think. I love Chris Berman and it will make some of the more boring games fun to watch. Mute all ya want. I for one will have the sound on and loud!

I'm in the minority here but I don't have a problem with this. He's better than Collinsworth on Sundays by a mile...but I'm sure that there are those who hate Boomer as much as I hate Collinsworth, so I feel for them. I like Berman because he's goofy and makes me laugh. (And the crazy rant tickles me every time...come on, we've all been there.)
