The Red Wings entered the third period with a 3-2 lead last night on the road in Phoenix. But the Coyotes have been outscoring opponents 15-5 in the third period at home of late and soon took the lead 4-3. Detroit tied the game up with twenty seconds left and with a scoreless overtime, it headed to a shootout
Fast forward to the 5:12 minute mark of the video above. The shootout is tied 1-1 and Phoenix has a chance to take control of it with a 2-1 lead through two skaters. Joel Lindstrom put a great fake on Osgood, but he recovered for one of the best shootout saves of the year.
By the way, if there is anyone out there who isn't a fan of an NHL team, you should adopt the Phoenix Coyotes. They clearly need some. Take a look at the video above of Detroit tying the game. Notice that more than half of the fans standing raise their hands in a fit of joy. Let me remind you that Detroit and Phoenix are on completely opposite sides of the country. How that many road fans got into Jobing.com Arena is unbelievable. Coyotes fans should be ashamed of themselves!
Not a big surprise to see all those Red Wings "fans". I bet half of them have never even been to Michigan. Also, many of these fans love their winning teams but seem to hate living in the state they play for.
This was classic Ozzie, somehow easy goals, sometimes freaky goals seem to find the net behind Osgood....and yet the spectacular, GAME SAVING, GAME WINNING saves will always be there. Ozzie will find his way, somehow...the Wings need to help by clamping down on the defensive zone plays...Thans for the video...great stuff!! GO WINGS!!
Very true! But, I have been going to Kings games since I was 12, and it wasn't until the Red Wings won their first SC after so many years that the fans started showing up in bulk. I rarely see Lions jerseys anywhere. lol
