Chuck Pagano will be the next coach of the Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have found their new head coach

According to the good folks over at Pro Football Talk, the Colts will hire Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano to be their new head coach.

Pagano served as the Ravens DC for only one season. Prior to that, he was their secondary coach for 3 seasons.

He has also worked in one capacity or another for USC, Miami, Boise State, ECU, UNLV and UNC at the college level, in addition to the Raiders and Browns in the NFL.

Pagano's pedigree is actually somewhat similar to former Colts coach Tony Dungy, who rose through the ranks as a defensive backs coach and a defensive coordinator before becoming a head coach.

Pagano replaces Jim Caldwell, who got the axe after an abysmal 2-14 season, the first losing season the Colts have suffered since 2001.

There's no word yet on how this hire will effect the Colts' potential logjam at the QB position, since they still have to decide what to do with Peyton Manning and they'll most likely be taking a quarterback with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft as well.

Peyton Manning is NOT gett 28 mill to stay in NE and mentor Luck. The Colts have too many issues.  They will cut ties with him and start anew.  They will prob bring in a Sage Rosenfels type to bring Luck along...Or Kerry Collins, i think they have him anyways

I am not proclaiming this at all, but if Manning makes it back and starts the season for he Colts. Then the Colts make it to the AFC championship game, maybe the Super Bowl. Would he be consider the best coach in the league?

Either way I wish him luck in Indy.
