The Colts have found their new head coach
Pagano served as the Ravens DC for only one season. Prior to that, he was their secondary coach for 3 seasons.
He has also worked in one capacity or another for USC, Miami, Boise State, ECU, UNLV and UNC at the college level, in addition to the Raiders and Browns in the NFL.
Pagano's pedigree is actually somewhat similar to former Colts coach Tony Dungy, who rose through the ranks as a defensive backs coach and a defensive coordinator before becoming a head coach.
Pagano replaces Jim Caldwell, who got the axe after an abysmal 2-14 season, the first losing season the Colts have suffered since 2001.
There's no word yet on how this hire will effect the Colts' potential logjam at the QB position, since they still have to decide what to do with Peyton Manning and they'll most likely be taking a quarterback with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft as well.
