Coach Butch Jones offered Monday a scholarship last week, who was overjoyed. The 5'11", 180-pound defensive back was a huge fan of the UC campus from first glance after taking a visit in February.
Monday pulled the trigger, well, on Monday.
"Yesterday, it hit me," Monday told Niebuhr. "Then I prayed about it last night. I called coach Jones (to commit). He said I made his day. He was very happy. I just thought it was time. I thought I should go ahead and get it over with.
"I wanted that one bad," he continued. "That is my dream school. I was like, 'Okay, my hard work paid off.'"
Although he plays corner for his high school team, Monday's highlight tape suggests that he could potentially be utilized as a free safety for the Bearcats. His versatility and nose for the ball in open space would be a nice asset to the position's depth right away.
Monday, a 3-star prospect, was a sought after corner from the Atlanta area. He chose Cincinnati over Toledo and Mississippi State, while also holding offers from Akron, Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Ohio.
