Despite his 2 Cy Young awards and incredibly dominant performance during his 2 seasons with the Jays, Gaston didn't exactly have glowing praise for Clemens, especially upon hearing news about a claim in Jeff Pearlman's book entitled The Rocket That Fell to Earth, that Clemens may have had a hand in Gaston's firing, and the hiring of Tim Johnson, Gaston's replacement.
Gaston also said that Clemens went so far as to threaten Gaston's job, by asking him if he wanted to keep his job or lose it. He even challenged Gaston's managerial decisions, in terms of pitching changes.
Apparently Clemens never had the stones to challenge Gaston to his face, however.
This really doesn't come as much of a surprise. Not many people would confuse Clemens with a classy or nice guy. Now, with Pearlman's new book, even more stories will come out, and we'll see this guy for the elitist joker that he is.
