Clemson Loses To Gerogia Tech 21-17. Dabo Swinney Gets Yelled At By Clemson AD.
Someone Get Lane Kiffin On The Phone Immediately

The train wreck that is the 2008 Clemson football team just kept on truckin' today, right into a horror-filled 21-17 home loss to Georgia Tech. It was what can only be described as a pathetic effort by a team that just had Tommy Bowden step down, and it pretty much drove a stake through the heart of interim coach Dabo Swinney's chances of being the longterm answer as head coach.

The Tigers gave up six turnovers in the game, but as bad as that was, it pales in comparison to the beating Swinney took from Clemson's AD during the game.

Clemson AD Terry Don Phillips joined the team on the sideline with 2 and half minutes left when Clemson was facing fourth and 22. Swinney called the hook and ladder, which failed miserably.  After that, Phillips could be seen jawing at an obviously flustered Swinney.

Lane Kiffin, expect a phone call. Like this instant.

I'm not sure where exactly this season went wrong for Clemson, maybe it was a complete lack of preparation or maybe this team was honestly never very good, but whatever the case, this team's season has been a complete and utter nightmare, and it's likely only going to get worse. Swinney couldn't even get the team to huddle up together after the game and leave the field as a group, so don't expect much from the Tigers in the coming weeks.

By the way, is Lane Kiffin the answer for what ails Clemson? I have no idea, but he couldn't make things much worse, that's for sure. Plus, Clemson is more or less the college version of the Raiders anyway, so you'd have to think Kiffin would easily be able to slip right in and feel totally comfortable.

Dabo Swinney, we hardly knew ye [The Sporting Blog]

I'd rather they go and get Will Muschamp away from Texas so I don't have to worry about last week repeating itself

I really hope they give Kiffin a shot. He deserves it after the debacle in Oakland, and I think that he would be a good fit at Clemson. He definitely has the resume, and the Tigers have the talent.

Well either Clemson or Tennessee will be a nice fit for both Muschamp and Kiffin. Just get Muschamp out of Texas. Please other schools AD's, throw lots and lots of money at him.

Give Muschamp to Tennessee... from one school with hideous orange and white uniforms to another.

You are 100% correct! My God,Dabo had on 3 days to prepare a game plan.I don't fault Clemson's effort. There were more enthusiasm, both on the field and in the seats than they have been in several games. The bye week is coming at a perfect time.Lets wait on passing judgement until we see what will happen when Dabo has the time he needs. Also, don't forget C.J. wasn't dressed out and the O-Line has no stability.
easyensc is right,The AD needs to stay off the sideline and let the coaches coach!
