Who ey! Who ey! Who ey say goin' beat em Bengals! There's no D in Cincinnati, so it was of all teams the Cleveland Browns torching the Bengals "defense" for 51 points and 554 yards total offense. I didn't catch the second half on TV as I was driving back home to Chicago, but over the radio the atrocity was conveyed well.
A week ago, the Browns couldn't help but trip over themselves. Lousy would be a compliment, which leads me to believe the Bengals could have performance better on defense if they sent out no one and let Cleveland fall over themselves.
I don't even know how to explain this one? The Bengals defense was lauded for keeping Baltimore in check a week ago. Today, Derek Anderson throws 5 touchdown passes. Brady who? Jamal Lewis couldn't make a statue miss a tackle last week. Today, Lewis ran for 215.
If there's any positive news, it's that the Indianapolis Colts defense looked helpless at times a year ago and still went on to win the Super Bowl. That said, cross the Bengals off the list of contenders. This was awful.
