According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Mike Brown, is returning back to Cleveland. The deal is supposed to be a five year deal worth $20 million.
After Brown’s departure, the Cavaliers became one of the worst defenses in the league. However, when Brown was the head coach, the Cavaliers were always one of the best defenses in the league. More than likely, this is the singular reason why the Cavs wanted to bring Brown back. He is a tough nosed, defensive minded coach.
Brown also led the Cavaliers to a Finals appearance in 2007 and had a winning record of 272-138 overall.
However, the jury is still out with whether Mike Brown can win without LeBron James. His short tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers proved otherwise.
The official announcement by the Cleveland Cavaliers will come Wednesday morning.
