Cliff Lee and Brandon Webb are clearly top candidates for their leagues' respective Cy Young awards this year. Each of them lead their league in wins, and both picked up yet another win last night.
Lee went 9 innings, gave up 8 hits and 2 runs, and struck out 6 in the Indians' 3-2 win over the Angels. Jhonny Peralta's 2 doubles led the Indians offensively and Lee's pitching performance held up, giving the Indians a victory over the team with the best record in baseball.
Webb pitched 8 innings for the Diamondbacks, also giving up 2 runs, but on only 4 hits, and also struck out 6. It almost didn't matter though, because Arizona's offense was unstoppable, with 12 runs on 14 hits in the 12-2 win over Houston. Tony Clark went 3-3, and Chris Snyder had 4 RBI in the win.
