Colin Kaepernick sets QB rushing record in 49ers 45-31 win over the Packers

I hope everyone is done questioning Colin Kaepernick's abilities

Jan 12, 2013; San Francisco, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick (7) runs the ball past Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden (93) for a touchdown during the third quarter of the NFC divisional round playoff game at Candlestick Park. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsYesterday, I picked the Packers to beat the 49ers by a score of 31-24.

I was half right. The Packers scored 31.

The thing is, I was under the impression that the 49ers wouldn't be able to keep up with the Packers' offense.

Words can't begin to describe how wrong I was.

Colin Kaepernick absolutely outplayed Aaron Rodgers last night, and the Packers were the ones who had problems keeping up with the explosive offense on the other side of the field.

Kaepernick set every rushing record imaginable for a QB.

The previous playoff QB rushing record was 119 yards, set by Michael Vick. Kaepernick had that taken care of in the first half.

The previous record for rushing yards by a quarterback in ANY game was 173. Kaepernick finished the game with 16 carries for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Passing the ball, he was also pretty good. He started the game with a pick 6 on his second pass, which certainly made 49ers fans nervous. After that, all he did was complete 17 of his next 29 passes for 263 yards and 2 TD.

Kaepernick showed that he can absolutely be a QB in the NFL, and showed a glimpse of the QB of the Future, excelling both in the air and on the ground.

I'm not sure if he'll be able to duplicate this insane level of success next week against either the Falcons or Seahawks, but it was fun watching him turn it on against the Packers.

You have to give a lot of credit to 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh. He developed Andrew Luck at Stanford, and then came to the 49ers and resuscitated Alex Smith's career, only to churn out Kaepernick, another stud QB who looks to be the face of the franchise going forward. It's amazing what he can do with quarterbacks.

Congrats to the 49ers, who are heading to the NFC Championship game.

While I still have no idea what Green Bay's defensive gameplan was, or why it didn't seem like any adjustments were made, all props to Kaepernick. Dude was beyond incredible.

Yes they did put on a show. :)  I figured it to be the same as you did (low scoring and boring) but they were fun to watch.  I'm anxious to see todays games also and hope they're as entertaining and exciting as yesterdays games were.
